except that thing is not even from the right time period

Donatello’s David is from the Renaissance while the Contrapost was coined in ancient Greece (700-500 BC)

So therefore, the correct way to show it would be

even though donatello was a renaissance sculptor, there was a movement at the time to look to the past and use greek and roman sculpture for models, so yes, david is a prime example of a contrapposto pose!

also that’s michelangelo’s david, he’s also a rennaisance sculptor, haha

here’s the “kritios boy,” he’s a really good example of greek contrapposto from about 480 BCE
